Jupiter Exchange token jumps 6.4% in a fast Tuesday rally
The Jupiter Exchange token ($JUP) traded at $0.313 at 11:40 a.m. ET on Oct. 20, up 6.4% in 24 hours, after a fast climb on Tuesday morning.
The quick take
- Price: $JUP at $0.313, +6.4% ↑ in 24 hours (CoinGecko, 15:40 UTC).
- Trigger: a fast climb during Tuesday morning in New York, with no announcement from Jupiter behind it so far.
- Watch: the 24-hour high of $0.324 and whether buyers take the lead in the main DEX pools.
What happened
The Jupiter Exchange token jumps 6.4% in a day on Tuesday, lifting $JUP to $0.313 at 15:40 UTC (11:40 a.m. ET), according to CoinGecko. That beat the wider market. Solana ($SOL) rose 1.1% on CoinGecko, while Bitcoin ($BTC) gained 0.4% and Ether ($ETH) 1.2% on LiveCoinWatch.
Over the past day, $JUP traded between $0.290 and $0.324 on CoinGecko. Its market value stands near $1.04 billion, with $72.6 million in 24-hour trading volume. Jupiter’s own price feed showed $0.314, a gap of 0.5% from CoinGecko.
Why it moved
Most of the gain came in a few hours. On Binance’s JUP/USDT pair, hourly prices sat between $0.29 and $0.30 for most of the day. They then climbed from about $0.298 to $0.323 by 15:00 UTC (11 a.m. ET), before easing to about $0.315.
No announcement from Jupiter and no news report in the past day explains the move, so its cause is not confirmed. The climb came while the rest of the market rose only modestly.
Who’s buying and selling
The two main pool readings point in different directions. On DexScreener, the top $JUP pool, a JUP/SOL pair on Orca DEX with about $740,000 in liquidity, logged 8,716 sells against 6,910 buys in 24 hours.
GeckoTerminal’s top pool, a JUP/SOL pair on Meteora with about $2.1 million in liquidity, showed the opposite: 1,177 buys and 872 sells. Trade counts say nothing about trade size, so neither reading shows who drove the price.
What to watch next
The 24-hour high of $0.324 is the first level to watch. Over 30 days, $JUP is up 18% on CoinGecko, so Tuesday’s jump adds to a longer climb.
On the platform side, DefiLlama shows $746 million locked in Jupiter’s perpetuals exchange, down 0.7% in a week. Jupiter Lend holds $1.03 billion, down 7.9% over the same week.
Bottom line: $JUP’s Tuesday jump shows up across price feeds, but no clear trigger has surfaced yet.
