The quick take

  • Price: $2.06, up 9.8% in 24 hours as of 1:40 p.m. ET (CoinGecko).
  • Trigger: buying picked up after 9 a.m. ET, and its top pool logged 14,251 buys against 12,216 sells.
  • Watch: whether buyers keep their lead in the RAY/SOL pool into Wednesday.

What happened

The Raydium token rallies through Tuesday afternoon. Raydium ($RAY) traded at $2.06 as of 1:40 p.m. ET, up 9.8% in 24 hours, CoinGecko data shows.

That puts its market value near $556 million. Trading volume across markets reached $39.7 million in 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. Jupiter’s price feed showed $2.07, within 0.4% of that price.

Over the past day, $RAY traded as low as $1.86. The token is up 24% over 30 days. It still sits about 88% below its record high of $16.83 from Sept. 12, 2021.

Why it moved

Most of the gain came in the U.S. afternoon. On Binance’s RAY/USDT pair, the token traded near $1.88 around 9 a.m. ET. It reached $2.07 by 1:41 p.m. ET.

No Raydium announcement explains the rise, so the cause is not confirmed. The wider market was firmer but moved far less. Solana ($SOL) gained 2.5% to $106.53 on CoinGecko, and Bitcoin ($BTC) rose 1.0%, according to LiveCoinWatch.

Who’s buying and selling

Buyers led in the token’s largest pool. The RAY/SOL pool on Raydium logged 14,251 buys and 12,216 sells over 24 hours, DexScreener shows. The pool holds $2.39 million in liquidity. That is the stock of tokens ready for trades, and a deeper pool lets larger orders go through with smaller price swings.

The exchange itself stayed busy. Raydium AMM held $1.18 billion in total value locked, DefiLlama data shows. Its latest 24-hour DEX volume reading was $183.6 million, the third-largest among Solana exchanges.

What to watch next

The first test is whether buyers stay ahead of sellers in the RAY/SOL pool once U.S. trading quiets down. The 24-hour low of $1.86 shows how far the token has climbed in a day.

Raydium’s deposits and DEX volume on DefiLlama will show whether more trading on the exchange follows the price.

Bottom line: $RAY posted the largest one-day gain among the 10 Solana tokens on our coverage list, though no announcement explains it yet.
