What happened

Pump.fun ($PUMP) rose 9.9% in 24 hours to $0.004271 at 2:42 p.m. ET (19:42 UTC) on Tuesday, according to CoinGecko. The Pump.fun token gains came early in the day and have held since.

CoinGecko puts the 24-hour range at $0.003895 to $0.004324. Jupiter’s on-chain price agreed closely, at $0.004261 and up 9.6%. That leaves the token near the top of its daily range.

Why it moved

Most of the move came in one stretch. On Binance’s PUMP/USDT pair, the hourly close rose from $0.003906 at 1 a.m. ET (06:00 UTC) to $0.004279 at 8 a.m. ET (13:00 UTC).

Since then, hourly closes have stayed between $0.004204 and $0.004274. The cause of the climb is not confirmed.

The wider market was firmer too, but by less. Solana ($SOL) gained 2.4% in 24 hours on CoinGecko, and Bitcoin ($BTC) rose 1.1%, according to LiveCoinWatch.

Who’s buying and selling

Buyers were slightly ahead on-chain. In the largest $PUMP pool tracked by DexScreener, a $PUMP/$SOL pool with $2.3 million in liquidity, traders made 12,067 buys and 10,882 sells in 24 hours.

CoinGecko shows $134.4 million in total 24-hour trading volume and a market value of about $1.96 billion. Pump.fun’s own exchange, PumpSwap, handled $261 million in its latest 24-hour reading, the most of any Solana exchange tracked by DefiLlama.

What to watch next

The weekly picture is close to flat. CoinGecko shows $PUMP up 0.3% over seven days, while CoinPaprika shows a 0.3% dip.

That means Tuesday’s gain has so far made up for losses earlier in the week. A project update or a clear catalyst would help explain the morning move.

Bottom line: The Pump.fun token added 9.9% in a day on an early Tuesday climb, with buyers a little ahead in its largest pool and no confirmed cause.
