The quick take

  • Price: Kamino Finance ($KMNO) $0.0400, -5.0% ↓ in 24 hours, as of 8:40 a.m. ET.
  • Trigger: No Kamino announcement in the past day; the slide came as Solana ($SOL) fell 2.5% and Bitcoin ($BTC) 2.2%.
  • Watch: Whether the token keeps most of its 22% gain from the past week.

What happened

The Kamino Finance token dips 5.0% in 24 hours, with $KMNO at $0.0400 as of 8:40 a.m. ET on Thursday, according to CoinGecko. That leaves it just 0.3% above the $0.0399 low CoinGecko lists for the past day.

The 24-hour high was $0.0436, so the token now trades about 8% below it. Jupiter’s price feed showed $0.0400, in line with CoinGecko.

The dip follows a strong run. $KMNO is still up 22% over seven days and 22% over 30 days, CoinGecko’s coin page shows. It remains 84% below its record high of $0.248, set in December 2024.

Why it moved

Kamino has posted no announcement in the past day, so the cause is not confirmed. The drop came on a soft day for the wider crypto market.

Solana fell 2.5% to $104.28, per CoinGecko. Bitcoin lost 2.2% and Ether ($ETH) 2.7% over 24 hours, LiveCoinWatch data show. $KMNO fell about twice as far as both.

On Binance’s KMNO/USDT pair, hourly prices peaked near $0.0429 around noon ET on Wednesday. They hovered between $0.0412 and $0.0424 through the evening, then drifted lower from about midnight ET to $0.0401 by 8 a.m. ET.

Who’s buying and selling

CoinGecko lists $9.5 million in 24-hour trading volume, against a market value of $233 million.

The token’s largest pool, KMNO/USDC on Orca, handled $3.8 million with $2.0 million in liquidity, per DexScreener. Buy trades slightly outnumbered sells there, 20,327 to 19,791. GeckoTerminal shows a similar split, with 20,285 buys and 19,729 sells.

So the price slipped even though buy orders were a bit more frequent. Trade counts do not show size, so the split says little about how much money moved each way.

What to watch next

Kamino Lend, the protocol’s lending market, holds $1.33 billion in deposits, up 1.1% in a week on DefiLlama. Readers can watch whether deposits stay steady while the token cools.

A Kamino update on its forum would also help explain the selling. Until then, the move stands on market data alone.

Bottom line: $KMNO dips 5.0% to near its daily low with no Kamino news, falling further than a soft Solana market but keeping most of a 22% weekly gain.
