What happened

On Binance, the lowest hourly close of the past day was $0.0341 at 9 p.m. ET on Monday. $KMNO has gained 14.7% since then. Most of the climb came in two steps: 3.7% between 10 and 11 a.m. ET, then 5.1% after the 2 p.m. ET close of $0.0372.

Jupiter’s price of $0.0391 matched Binance within 0.2%. CoinGecko shows $KMNO down 0.4% over seven days but up 56% over 30 days. It still sits 84% below its record of $0.248 from Dec. 15, 2024.

Why it moved

We found no Kamino announcement in the past day that explains the jump, so the cause is not confirmed. The move ran against most of the field. Raydium ($RAY) fell 6.8%, while Orca DEX ($ORCA) and Ondo Finance ($ONDO) each lost 5.1% on Binance.

Pump.fun ($PUMP) slipped 3.2% and Jupiter Exchange ($JUP) 2.6%. Jito ($JTO) was the only other gainer, up 4.2%. Solana ($SOL) dipped 0.6%, while Bitcoin ($BTC) rose 0.4%, according to LiveCoinWatch at 19:41 UTC.

Who’s buying and selling

Trade counts did not lean toward buyers. In the largest $KMNO pool listed by DexScreener, an Orca pool against USDC with $1.97 million in liquidity, sells outnumbered buys 21,948 to 21,200 over 24 hours. GeckoTerminal showed nearly the same split.

Trade counts do not show trade size. So the counts alone do not show who drove the price higher.

What to watch next

Kamino Lend, the protocol’s lending market, held $1.31 billion in deposits at 18:42 UTC, per DefiLlama. That is up 1.7% since midnight UTC but 6.3% below the $1.40 billion of Oct. 6. Borrowers had $929 million out.

Readers can watch whether deposits recover along with the token after a weaker week. The overnight low of $0.0341 is the nearest level the token left behind.

Bottom line: $KMNO jumped 8.0% on Tuesday against a mostly falling field, with no confirmed cause and sellers still slightly ahead on trade count.
