The quick take
- Price: $ONDO trades at $0.418, up 0.2% over 24 hours (CoinGecko, as of 11:41 a.m. ET, Oct. 28).
- Trigger: DTCC switched on its tokenization service on Wednesday, and Ondo Finance is listed among its launch partners.

What happened
Ondo Finance joins DTCC as one of the outside firms backing its new tokenization service, which went live on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Ondo Finance ($ONDO) said in a blog post that it sits in the service’s ecosystem next to Broadridge, DRW and Fireblocks.
The Depository Trust Company (DTC), a unit of DTCC, runs the service. DTC clients can now move eligible holdings between their usual form and a token form. Ondo and Cointelegraph both say the tokens keep the same ownership rights.
CoinDesk reported that 34 securities can be tokenized at launch, worth about $30 trillion in market value. The list covers large-cap Russell 1000 stocks, ETFs and U.S. Treasury bills, notes and bonds.
Twenty DTC clients have signed agreements to use the service, according to Cointelegraph, among them Citi, Fidelity Investments, JPMorgan and Citadel Securities. DTC has custody of over $114 trillion in assets.
“Today marks the culmination of years of work to bring tokenized securities into a regulated framework,” DTCC chief executive Frank La Salla said, as quoted by CoinDesk.
For Ondo, the tie is not new. It joined a DTC industry working group in May 2026. In July, its CRCLon and SPYon tokens became the first tokenized stocks backed by DTC Tokenized Entitlements, the company said.
What to watch next
For now the service runs on the Canton Network and DTCC’s private Besu network. More blockchains are planned for 2027, and CoinDesk named Stellar and Circle’s Arc as two of them.
The legal basis is an SEC staff no-action letter from December 2025.
Bottom line: Ondo Finance holds a partner seat in Wall Street’s main tokenization pipe from its first live day.
