What happened

CoinGecko puts the 24-hour range at $1.64 to $1.83. The token’s market value stands at about $110.7 million, and $12.9 million worth of $ORCA changed hands across markets in that time.

Longer windows look calmer. $ORCA is up 1.2% over seven days and 16% over 30 days, per CoinGecko. It still trades about 91% below its record high of $20.33, set on Oct. 2, 2021.

Why it moved

Most of the gain came in the U.S. afternoon. On Binance’s ORCA/USDT pair, hourly closes rose from $1.67 at 1 p.m. ET to $1.81 at 4 p.m. ET. The token then held near that level into the evening.

The cause is not confirmed, and no new announcement from Orca appeared during the day. The wider market was flat. Solana ($SOL) sat at $102.42, down 0.1% on the day per CoinGecko. Bitcoin ($BTC) traded near $80,801, down 0.2%, per LiveCoinWatch.

Pool data gives mixed signals. In the largest $ORCA pool against $SOL on Orca, DexScreener counted 2,765 sells and 1,842 buys in 24 hours, with about $775,000 in liquidity.

GeckoTerminal’s top ORCA/SOL pool, a different pool, showed 303 buys and 284 sells, with about $896,000 in liquidity. Trade counts do not show trade size, so neither reading shows who drove the move.

The exchange itself stayed busy. DefiLlama’s latest 24-hour reading puts Orca DEX trading volume at $168.2 million, third among Solana DEXs behind BisonFi and PumpSwap. Total value locked on Orca DEX stood at $300.1 million.
