Pump.fun weekly revenue falls 15% as daily token buybacks shrink

Pump.fun earned $10.5 million in the seven days to 7:47 p.m. ET on Oct. 15, down 15% from the week before, DefiLlama data show.

The quick take

  • Price: $PUMP traded at $0.004523 at 7:40 p.m. ET, down 4.7% in 24 hours and 19.6% over seven days.
  • Trigger: Trading cooled on Pump.fun’s launchpad (-8.7% ↓) and on PumpSwap (-5.9% ↓) week over week, cutting the fees that fund buybacks.
  • Watch: Whether daily $PUMP buybacks, set at about half of revenue, stay below $1 million.

Pump.fun weekly revenue fell to $10.5 million in the seven days to 7:47 p.m. ET on Oct. 15, DefiLlama data show. That is 15% below the $12.4 million that Pump.fun ($PUMP), the memecoin launchpad on Solana ($SOL), earned the week before. The project is also spending less each day to buy back its own token.

What happened

The latest daily reading points the same way. DefiLlama’s most recent 24-hour revenue figure was $1.38 million, down 7.6% from $1.49 million in the 24 hours before. Over 30 days, Pump.fun has earned $43.7 million.

The token buyback shrank along with revenue. Pump.fun’s own buyback page shows $945,600 spent on Oct. 14, down from $1.30 million on Oct. 5. Each of those daily buys used close to half of that day’s revenue, in line with the 50% share the project locked for buybacks in April.

In total, the page lists $485.93 million spent and 171.9 billion $PUMP bought back and burned. It also warns that its fee dashboard does not yet count revenue from custom trading pairs correctly. So its revenue figures can differ from DefiLlama’s.

Why it moved

Trading slowed at both of Pump.fun’s venues. Volume on its launchpad fell 8.7% week over week to $1.15 billion, DefiLlama shows. PumpSwap, its decentralized exchange, handled $2.24 billion in the latest seven days, down 5.9%.

PumpSwap’s own revenue fell faster, by 24% to $3.37 million for the week. Its latest 24-hour volume reading of $252.5 million was 44% below the reading for the 24 hours before.

The wider market was weak too. Decrypt reported on Oct. 15 that altcoins fell harder than Bitcoin ($BTC) after U.S. consumer prices rose 3.7% in the year to September. CoinShares researcher Luke Nolan told Decrypt that altcoins are high-beta assets that react more to tighter financial conditions. No single cause for the slower trading on Pump.fun has been confirmed.

Who’s buying and selling

$PUMP traded at $0.004523 as of 7:40 p.m. ET, Oct. 15, CoinGecko data show. It was down 4.7% in 24 hours and 19.6% over seven days. The token is still up 29% over 30 days and sits 49% below its record of $0.008819 from Sept. 14, 2025.

Buyers still made more trades than sellers in the token’s largest pool. The $PUMP/USDC pool on PumpSwap logged 8,682 buys and 5,669 sells in 24 hours, according to DexScreener. GeckoTerminal showed a close match, with 8,675 buys and 5,698 sells. The pool held $23.6 million in liquidity.

CoinGecko put the token’s 24-hour trading volume at $285.7 million and its market value at $2.09 billion. Those numbers make the daily buyback a small share of daily trading in the token.

What to watch next

The next daily entries on Pump.fun’s buyback page will show whether spending stays below $1 million. Because the buyback takes about half of revenue, it rises and falls with trading on the launchpad and PumpSwap.

Weekly volume on both venues, tracked by DefiLlama, is the clearest early signal for the next revenue reading. A fix to the custom-pair gap in Pump.fun’s dashboard could also change how its revenue figures compare with outside trackers.

Pump.fun’s buyback page says past purchases are not a commitment to future ones, apart from the share it programmed in April. That share runs for one year from that date.

Bottom line: Pump.fun’s revenue fell 15% in a week, and the daily buybacks funded by that revenue are shrinking with it.
