The Orca DEX token surges for another day. Orca DEX ($ORCA) traded at $2.62 at 11:38 a.m. ET (15:38 UTC) on Tuesday, up 33% in 24 hours and 62% in seven days, according to CoinGecko. Jupiter’s price feed showed $2.64, within 1% of that figure.

The quick take

  • Price: $2.62, +33% ↑ in 24 hours and +62% ↑ in seven days, per CoinGecko.
  • Trigger: $212.8 million in 24-hour trading volume, more than the token’s $159.6 million market value.
  • Watch: Whether trading on Orca DEX itself, $281.5 million in a day, keeps pace with the token.

What happened

$ORCA moved between $1.98 and $2.75 over the past 24 hours, CoinGecko data at 15:39 UTC show. Its 30-day gain now stands at 88%. Even so, the token sits about 87% below its record high of $20.33, set in October 2021.

Hourly closes on Binance’s ORCA/USDT pair show a steady climb. The pair stood at $1.98 at 15:00 UTC on Monday and at $2.42 by midnight UTC. It reached $2.69 at 15:00 UTC on Tuesday.

Why it moved

The biggest single step came between 19:00 and 20:00 UTC on Monday, when the pair rose 7.0%, from $2.10 to $2.24. Trading stayed busy all day. CoinGecko counted $212.8 million in 24-hour volume, about 1.3 times the token’s $159.6 million market value.

Orca’s own blog shows no new announcement in the past day, so the cause of the jump is not confirmed. The wider market was calmer: Solana ($SOL) rose 1.5% to $121.20, per CoinGecko, and Bitcoin ($BTC) gained 0.9%, per LiveCoinWatch.

Who’s buying and selling

On-chain, sellers made more trades than buyers. In the largest ORCA/SOL pool on Orca, DexScreener recorded 31,667 sells and 28,637 buys over 24 hours. GeckoTerminal showed the same pattern in a second ORCA/SOL pool, with 4,231 sells against 3,134 buys.

Trade counts do not show size. Fewer but larger purchases can still outweigh many small sales, which fits a rising price.

What to watch next

The exchange itself is busy too. Orca DEX handled $281.5 million in 24-hour volume, second on Solana behind PumpSwap at $306.6 million, DefiLlama data show. Deposits on Orca DEX reached $324.6 million, up 7.1% in a week.

The next test is whether that activity holds if the token’s daily gains slow.

Bottom line: $ORCA’s 33% daily gain came on trading volume larger than its market value, with no announcement yet to explain it.
