Why it moved
The slide started overnight. On Binance’s JUP/USDT pair, the hourly close fell from $0.3174 at 10 p.m. ET Wednesday (02:00 UTC) to $0.3013 by midnight ET (04:00 UTC). The token has not won that ground back since.
No Jupiter announcement explains the drop, so a project-specific cause is not confirmed. The wider market fell too. Solana ($SOL) lost 3.6% to $102.12 on CoinGecko, while LiveCoinWatch shows $BTC down 2.4% and $ETH down 5.2%.
Some Solana DeFi tokens fell harder. Pump.fun ($PUMP) dropped 14% and Kamino Finance ($KMNO) 13%, per CoinGecko. The longer view is calmer for $JUP: it is still up 29% over 30 days.
Who’s buying and selling
On-chain pools give mixed readings. DexScreener’s top $JUP pool, a JUP/SOL pair on Orca, logged 9,424 buys and 9,098 sells in 24 hours, with about $686,000 in liquidity.
GeckoTerminal’s top pool, a JUP/SOL pair on Meteora, leaned the other way. It showed 1,517 buys against 1,890 sells and $1.98 million in liquidity.
Jupiter’s products still hold large balances. DefiLlama puts deposits in Jupiter Lend at $1.11 billion and in the Jupiter Perpetual Exchange at $727 million.
What to watch next
- Whether $JUP stays above its 24-hour low of $0.2923 on CoinGecko.
- Any Jupiter announcement that could explain the overnight drop.
- Whether $BTC and $SOL steady, since $JUP moved with them today.
Bottom line: $JUP’s 7.6% drop came mostly overnight and tracks a wider sell-off, with no Jupiter-specific trigger confirmed.
