Jupiter Exchange lending rebound lifts deposits back above $1 billion
Deposits in Jupiter Lend climbed 12% from their Oct. 30 low to $1.02 billion by 5:16 p.m. ET on Tuesday, DefiLlama data shows.
The Jupiter Exchange lending rebound has erased last week’s drop. Deposits in Jupiter Exchange ($JUP)‘s lending market, Jupiter Lend, rose to $1.02 billion by 5:16 p.m. ET on Tuesday, DefiLlama data shows. That is 12% above the low of $907.9 million recorded on Oct. 30.
The quick take
- Price: $JUP trades at $0.2507, up 4.0% in 24 hours (CoinGecko, 6:40 p.m. ET).
- Trigger: Jupiter Lend deposits climbed back to $1.02 billion, above the $1.01 billion seen before the Oct. 30 drop.
- Watch: Whether cash free to withdraw from the USDC pool keeps growing, now at $43.9 million.
What happened
Jupiter Lend lost about a tenth of its deposits in one day last week. DefiLlama’s daily readings fell from $1.01 billion on Oct. 29 to $907.9 million on Oct. 30, a drop of 10.2%.
The money came back in steps. The total sat near $930 million through Nov. 1, then jumped by $73.7 million to $1.00 billion on Nov. 2. It reached $1.01 billion at the start of Tuesday and $1.02 billion by the latest reading.
So the market now holds slightly more than it did before the drop. The cause of the return is not confirmed.
What the lending pools show
Jupiter’s own lending data gives a closer look at the lenders’ side. Its USDC pool holds $470.4 million, the largest of its seven earn pools, according to Jupiter’s API at 6:48 p.m. ET. Of that, $43.9 million can be withdrawn right away.
Lenders in that pool earn 5.0% a year from interest, plus 0.25% in rewards, for 5.3% in total. The newer JupUSD pool holds $46.0 million and pays 7.1% in total, rewards included.
Across all seven pools, Jupiter’s API counts about $564 million supplied. DefiLlama’s $1.02 billion is larger because it also counts the collateral that borrowers lock up. The two figures measure different things, so they are not meant to match.
Why it matters
A lending market works only when lenders trust they can get their money out. A fast refill after a sharp exit suggests lenders were not scared away for long.
The rebound also narrows the gap with the largest rival on Solana. Kamino Finance‘s lending market, Kamino Lend, holds $1.23 billion, DefiLlama shows. Jupiter Lend now sits about $207 million behind it.
Both markets are part of a wider Solana ($SOL) DeFi base of $5.47 billion in deposits, per DefiLlama. Lending is one of its biggest parts.
Who’s buying and selling
The token side was calmer. $JUP rose 4.0% over 24 hours to $0.2507, CoinGecko data shows. Jupiter’s own price feed agreed within 0.2%.
Lending deposits and the token price do not have to move together. Deposits are mostly stablecoins and other assets that users lend out, not $JUP itself.
What to watch next
- Whether DefiLlama’s total holds above $1 billion in the next daily readings.
- The USDC pool’s free cash: a rising figure means lenders can leave more easily if they choose to.
- Lending rates: a sharp rise in the USDC rate would hint at heavier borrowing or new withdrawals.
- Any statement from Jupiter on what drove the Oct. 30 outflow and the return.
Bottom line: Jupiter Lend has won back the deposits it lost on Oct. 30, though the reason for both moves is still unknown.
