What happened

The token peaked on Thursday afternoon. On Binance’s PUMP/USDT pair, the hourly close reached $0.004588 at 1 p.m. ET (17:00 UTC). The sharpest fall came a few hours later: from the 4 p.m. to the 5 p.m. ET reading (20:00 to 21:00 UTC), the price dropped 8.1% to $0.004062.

The slide went on into the night. The hourly close hit $0.003858 at 10 p.m. ET (02:00 UTC). CoinGecko puts the 24-hour low at $0.003787 and the high at $0.004638.

$PUMP now trades 7.6% above that low. It is 11.1% lower over seven days, per CoinGecko, and CoinPaprika shows a similar 11.2% weekly drop. The token sits 53.8% below its record high of $0.008819, set on Sept. 14, 2025.

Why it moved

The cause is not confirmed. The drop lined up with a broad sell-off across crypto.

Solana ($SOL) fell 7.6% to $94.64 on Binance’s SOL/USDT pair. Bitcoin ($BTC) lost 5.2% and Ethereum ($ETH) 5.8% in 24 hours, per LiveCoinWatch. Other Solana DeFi tokens fell too: Jito ($JTO) dropped 11.8% and Kamino Finance ($KMNO) 11.4%, both on Binance.

Who’s buying and selling

On the main PUMP/USDC pool on PumpSwap, Pump.fun’s own exchange, buyers made more trades than sellers. DexScreener counted 12,535 buys against 8,078 sells in 24 hours. GeckoTerminal showed a similar split, 12,413 to 8,081.

Trade counts do not show trade size, so a few large sales can outweigh many small buys. The pool holds about $22.7 million in liquidity.

What to watch next

Pump.fun earned $1.18 million in revenue over the past 24 hours and $8.65 million over seven days, per DefiLlama. Deposits on PumpSwap stood at $324.8 million, down 3.7% in a day.

Readers can watch two things: whether $PUMP stays above its overnight low of $0.003787, and whether daily revenue keeps pace with last week’s average of about $1.24 million.

Bottom line: $PUMP lost 9.6% in a day during a market-wide sell-off with no confirmed cause, but it has steadied above its overnight low.
