A dark green coin with a green-and-white pill emblem tilts as it sinks into calm water at a neon synthwave sunset, with chrome towers on the shore.

The Pump.fun token falls 5.6% in 24 hours as sellers kept control from Friday morning into the late afternoon. Pump.fun ($PUMP) traded at $0.005361 at 5:40 p.m. ET on Oct. 9, according to CoinGecko.

The quick take

  • Price: $0.005361, -5.6% ↓ in 24 hours (CoinGecko, 5:40 p.m. ET).
  • Trigger: Selling built from about 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET while Bitcoin edged up; no cause has been confirmed.
  • Watch: Whether a small evening bounce holds above the day’s low of $0.005249.

What happened

CoinGecko puts the 24-hour range between $0.005824 and $0.005249. Its market value stands near $2.48 billion, with $204.5 million in trading over the day.

The Jupiter aggregator showed $0.005369 at the same time, within 0.2% of CoinGecko. The token is still up about 25% over 30 days, but it sits about 39% below its record of $0.008819 from Sept. 14, 2025.

Why it moved

Hourly data on Binance’s PUMP/USDT pair shows the shape of the day. The token closed at $0.005731 at 8 a.m. ET, its best hourly close of the session.

From there it slipped almost every hour, reaching $0.005268 at 4 p.m. ET. A modest bounce lifted it to $0.005385 by 5:41 p.m. ET.

The drop came against a firmer market. Bitcoin ($BTC) rose 1.1% and Ether ($ETH) 0.3% in 24 hours, per LiveCoinWatch, while Solana ($SOL) slipped 1.0% on CoinGecko. No Pump.fun news explains the slide, so the cause is not confirmed.

Who’s buying and selling

On-chain traders did not run for the exit. The largest $PUMP pool on DexScreener, a PUMP/SOL pool on Orca, logged 23,252 buys against 20,946 sells over 24 hours. That pool holds about $2.16 million in liquidity.

The platform itself kept earning. DefiLlama shows $1.63 million in Pump.fun revenue over the past day and $12.3 million over seven days. PumpSwap led all Solana exchanges with $364.6 million in 24-hour volume.

What to watch next

The first test is the day’s low of $0.005249. A close back under it would extend the slide that began on Friday morning.

The second is revenue. A daily figure near $1.6 million keeps Pump.fun among Solana’s busiest apps, and a drop there would matter more than one red day.

Bottom line: $PUMP gave back 5.6% on a day when Bitcoin rose, yet on-chain buyers and platform revenue held up.
