Solana DeFi week opens as Sunday DEX volume rebounds 9.9%
Solana DEXs handled $1.71 billion in trades on Sunday, Oct. 4, up 9.9% from Saturday, DefiLlama data showed at 12:41 UTC Monday.
The quick take
- Price: Solana ($SOL) $120.44, -0.9% in 24 hours, as of 8:41 a.m. ET, Oct. 5.
- Trigger: Sunday trading rose to $1.71 billion after Saturday’s $1.55 billion.
- Watch: Jupiter Lend sits about $74 million behind Kamino Lend after a 13.1% weekly gain.
The Solana DeFi week opens after a small weekend rebound in trading. Decentralized exchanges on Solana handled $1.71 billion on Sunday, up 9.9% from Saturday’s $1.55 billion, according to DefiLlama.
What happened
The rebound did not undo a slow week. Solana DEXs processed $16.3 billion in the seven days through Oct. 4, down 11% from $18.3 billion the week before, per DefiLlama.
Deposits held up better than trading. Total value locked across Solana ($SOL) DeFi stood at $6.72 billion. That compares with $6.63 billion on Sept. 28, a gain of about 1.3%.
$SOL itself barely moved. It traded at $120.44 on Binance’s SOL/USDT pair, down 0.9% in 24 hours. For context, Bitcoin ($BTC) was up 0.7% at $85,893, per LiveCoinWatch.
Why it moved
Money shifted between apps more than it left the chain. Jupiter Lend, part of Jupiter Exchange ($JUP), grew 13.1% in a week to $1.32 billion. Kamino Finance ($KMNO) Lend slipped 3.2% to $1.40 billion.
Liquidity also moved toward Orca DEX ($ORCA). Its value locked, which moves with token prices as well as deposits, reached $322 million, up 8.3% in seven days. Raydium ($RAY) AMM held near $1.36 billion, up 0.7%.
Token prices were mixed. $ORCA traded at $1.98 on Binance, up 8.8% in 24 hours, and Jito ($JTO) rose 4.5% to $0.578. $RAY fell 2.6% to $2.03.
Who’s buying and selling
On Orca’s largest SOL/USDC pool, buys outnumbered sells 39,184 to 33,270 over 24 hours, DexScreener data showed. GeckoTerminal counted a similar 39,036 to 33,172.
Trading in the main ORCA/SOL pool was balanced, with 16,001 buys and 16,230 sells, per DexScreener. The token’s gain came without a clear buyer edge on that pool.
What to watch next
- Weekday volume: Monday’s DefiLlama figures will show whether Sunday’s rebound carries into the work week.
- The lending race: Jupiter Lend needs about $74 million more to match Kamino Lend’s $1.40 billion.
- Staking: Jito liquid staking holds $1.26 billion, up 2.2% in a week, per DefiLlama.
Bottom line: Solana DeFi starts the week steady at $6.72 billion, with trading off its lows and lending deposits drifting to Jupiter Lend.
Price data: Binance (SOL/USDT, ORCA/USDT, JTO/USDT, RAY/USDT), checked against Jupiter.
